Cutina STE is a product mainly used in shampoo as opacifier. 
Due to Cutina STEs chemical structure Cutina STE is hydrolitically stable and therefore beneficially suitable for all formulations where a wide pH range is needed e.g. deo/antiperspirant and hair remover formulations. 
Cutina STE can also be used in lipstick for Cutina STEs interesting spreading behavior. 
Cutina STE has an acid value of max. 3, a free fatty alcohol of 11-15%, and a saponification value of 5-10.
Cutina STE is a slightly yellowish lipophilic wax with a characteristic odor and is supplies in micropearls or pellets.

Distearyl Ether. CUTINA® STE by BASF is an opacifier. 
Due to Cutina STEs chemical structure, Cutina STE is hydrolysis stable and is suitable for all formulations where a wide pH range is needed. 
Cutina STE finds application in shampoos, deo/antiperspirant and hair remover formulations. 
Cutina STE can also be used in lipstick due to Cutina STEs spreading behavior. 
The shelf life of the ingredient is 12 months.

In the skin and hair care products as an air conditioner, Cutina STE gives a haze to the final product, softens the skin.
Cutina STE is safe when used as intended.
CUTINA STE  functions in skincare and cosmetics as a/an moisturizing ingredient.
The non-liquid fatty ethers which can be used according to the invention are chosen from dialkyl ethers, in particular diketyl ether and CUTINA STE , alone or as a mixture.
Another ingredient to formulate highperformance silicone-free shampoos is CUTINA STE (and) Sodium Laureth Sulfate (and) Distearyl Ether (and) Dicaprylyl Ether (Lamesoft Care, Cognis). 
This micronized wax dispersion can be combined with cationic polymers to create power conditioning shampoos. 

These formulations significantly improve the combability of wet hair and achieve a reduction in hair breakage comparable to that of leading global shampoo benchmarks. 
Physical measurements on treated hair strands have demonstrated that a shampoo containing only three percent of this ether based dispersion delivers the same outstanding anti-hair breakage protection as the leading benchmark silicone-based shampoos used in combination with their conditioner.
Performance tests also show that shampoo formulations containing this dispersion improve hair shine.
CUTINA STE is a light spreading waxy emollient that can be used as a texture improver, opacifier and pearlescent agent additive with a sharp melting profile. 
Cutina STE is hydrolytically stable, which makes it suitable for use in a wide range of pH conditions.
CUTINA STE lends pearlescence to cosmetic formulations and can adjust for increasing hardness.
