The dienes [112-41-4] obtained by propylene tetropolymerization react with hydrogen sulfide at about 20 ℃ for 2 hours in the presence of aluminum trichloride catalyst.

The kinetic of consumption of Tert-Dodecylmercaptan (TDM) in emulsion polymerization of chloroprene in the presence of various amounts of sulphur have been studied.
Tert-Dodecylmercaptan is shown that during the entire course of polymerization of chloroprene the relative rate of consumption of TDM increases as the concentration of sulphur, the second regulator, is increased.
Increase in the degree of conversion and decrease in the concentration of sulphur cause an increase in the molecular weight and in the breadth of the molecular weight distribution of the polymer.
A molecular mechanism of control of the MWD and average molecular weight of polychloroprene by this combined regulator system is proposed.
