Heterogeneous catalysis is a form of catalysis in which the catalyst and the reacting substances of a chemical reaction are present in different phases, for example as gas and solid or as immiscible liquids. 
Almost all chemical products have come into contact with a heterogeneous catalyst at some point. 

TIB products has developed a range of heterogeneous catalysts based on the precious metals palladium (CAS 7440-05-3) and platinum (CAS 7440-06-4). 
Activated carbon serves as the catalyst carrier. 

These powder catalysts show high catalytic activity in the hydrogenation of alkenes, aldehydes, ketones, nitriles or nitro compounds. 
They are also used to remove protecting groups such as the Cbz protecting group through hydrogenolysis.

DESCRIPTION of TIB KAT 256:
Catalysts are products in demand in modern industry and are widely used in various areas of production of modern materials, such as sealants and adhesives, paints and coatings, resins, binders for various purposes. 
Also, organotin compounds are used in the production of oleochemistry, where the high quality of additives and the efficiency of catalysis are of great importance.

For oleochemistry:
The quality of esters of oleoproducts (mainly various natural oils) depends very much on the method of catalysis in the process of their production. 
Organotin catalysts, as well as inorganic products based on zinc and tin, and sulfonic acid catalysts are widely used in the transesterification process. 

Catalysts TIB KAT (TIB CAT) allow to achieve high reactivity and high yields of the final product. 
In addition, the end products contain fewer impurities (by-products) and are visually more attractive.

For the production of binders:
The complex of properties of finished paint and varnish coatings is largely determined by the choice of the main binder, i.e. pitches. 
Selective organotin catalysts largely determine the consumer properties of polyester, alkyd, polyurethane, and silicone resins. 
The use of organotin catalysts TIB KAT (TIB CAT) minimizes the formation of by-products, improves the color of finished resins, and reduces their turbidity.

For the production of paints and coatings:
Increasing requirements for decorative, industrial, automotive coatings lead to the need to use organotin catalysts. 
The grades of TIB CAT catalysts based not only on zinc, but also modern products based on bismuth or zinc with the lowest toxicological impact, are used in various fields.

For the production of adhesives and sealants:
Specialty adhesives and sealants are used in the automotive, aerospace, construction and shipbuilding industries. 
They must be flexible and technologically advanced in application, as well as protect components and parts from environmental influences.

In addition to the standard grades of TIB CAT, there are several grades with lower toxicity. 
For silane-modified polymers and silane-terminated polymers, special catalysts based on a mixture of silanes have been developed that meet the requirements for modern products based on these polymers.

Special catalysts for polymer production:
For vulcanization of thermoplastic elastomers, we recommend a special blended catalyst TIB98 based on tin chloride, which is a polymerization cross-linking agent, provides excellent fluidity and prevents the formation of agglomerates, increasing the processability of the whole process.
